I asked them to approve EEP, but they replied then even if it's open-source, it's used to add EPG data in a commercial product (EyeTV), and as such, can't be allowed to use SD data. With MythTV the process is that they provide the software and you provide the account (which you pay a small amount for). Why wouldn't that work for this project? Frankly I wouldn't buy EyeTV again because of this issue, but I should be able to use a services like Schedules Direct :) Then how does MythTV use it?

That being said, since EEP is open-source, there's nothing stopping you from doing whatever you'd like at home.
