i bought one and it worked well for internet browsing. then i set up a home network and got miserable performance (it took 6 HOURS to transfer 400 mb).

So I downloaded the firmware update thinking it would help, and now the POS is completely dead.

i'm never buying a netgear product again. i knew i should have gotten the linksys product.

I tossed the box for one of them and if I hadn't I'd return them. I had read that the previous version was a poor performer and then gave the new Netgear product the benefit of the doubt when I was in the store and unable to find the one I wanted (Devolo 200). I've been happy with other Netgear products over the years.

Nothing; I've kept using them in the living room on about 20 feet, and I've kept using my slow wifi for living room -> bedroom communications.
