Would you like to monitor your monthly Videotron Internet quota easily?

How do I change the look of this thing ? I’m not programmer…
You can’t. You’d need to be able to code JavaScript to be able to move / resize elements. Without that knowledge, the most you could do is change the colors of the different elements, or maybe their look, but without being able to change their size of position. Also, some of the colors comes from a CSS style sheet, so you’d need to understand that too to be able to change the color or look of the fonts, background, etc.
Can you ask them to answer to the phone when we need them for a technical support. If u don’t have a bill to pay, they never answer to the phone. what a shame. After waiting 55 minutes, I hung up to call them again to wait for other 55 minutes. Is this a company?????
Indispensable, but since I don’t use Chrome and I don’t use Mac OS X’s Dashboard, I created an app out of this using Amnesty Singles so I could still take advantage of it. As an added bonus, I can leave it on my Desktop at all times, so I see my quota every time I hide all windows to show the desktop. Thanks for a useful app!

Cependant, le widget v.1.3.0 ne fonctionne ni sur mon MacBook Pro i7 (Early 2011) ni sur mon iMac Core Duo (Early 2006). J’ai tenté avec un redémarrage ou même en changeant les majuscules de la clé d’utilisateur fournie par Vidéotron en minuscules (ou en remplaçant les ‘zéros’ par la lettre “O”, juste au cas où), mais le widget continue de chercher à se connecter sans succès.
As-tu un conseil ? Devrais-je effacer le .plist de ton widget?

Je peux confirmer que la v.1.3.1 fonctionne très bien (de plus, nous n’avons plus à entrer les détails de notre forfait Vidéotron dans les préférences du widget).
I use your wonderful widget for my company’s small business Videotron account, but now the widget is asking for a User Key and I can’t find that anywhere on the Small Business website. Perhaps you could make both the User Key and VL-code options available in the widget? I have donated to the project if that helps you make up your mind…

The VL username is not an option anymore, because the widget now use the Videotron API to fetch the data. Their API only takes the User Key, not the VL username.
You can find the User Key in the Customer Center, My Profile page, User Key tab. There is a direct link to that page in the widget options.
The new version 1.3.1 fixes this problem. Sorry about that!

Unless I am completely mistaken (which completely possible), I do not see a User Key option on the Small Business Customer Centre. It is there for the Consumer section, just not Small Business. I guess this widget is closed to business customers until Videotron fixes that?
Hopefully I have an old version in my archives somewhere!

I asked Videotron, to make sure.
Old versions of the widget (you can find 1.2.8 here) depend on a server-side script source code) that I host on my server, and is broken since Videotron released their API. I won’t maintain that old script anymore; I already put enough time on the new 1.3 branch to maintain the old versions too. Sorry.
Maybe Videotron will have a better answer for you; I’ll post back when I get an answer.

Tester avec 2 machines 1 Mac et un Windows et Firefox et IE9…. La section Mon profil de l’espace client semble down… Ceci a ete tester par Videotron. Y a-t’il une autre maniere de retrouver cette cle?

Voici le message que j’ai reçu de vidéotron après avoir indiqué un problème avec ‘Mon profil’ et l’erreur ‘Error 500…’
“Nous éprouvons présentement des problèmes techniques avec certaines sections de l’espace client. Tout devrait rentrer dans l’ordre d’ici 48 heures.”
Le problème est maintenant corrigé! Mais quand j’inscris la clé générée dans le widget la connexion se fait mais sans résultat (2 heures d’attente)!

Je viens de mettre à jour utilisant la version 1.3.4 mais maintenant le graphique n’est plus représentatif de ma consommation; la version 1.3.3 fonctionnait parfaitement!

Here’s what I get with the latest 1.3.5 version.
API error: You abused Videotron Public API …
This is not related to the 1.3.5 version, but to the number of requests to sent to the Videotron servers in the last 15 minutes. If it’s above 20 requests, they will block you for 24h.
I already told them I found this to be ridiculous (especially the 24h, which should be more around 1h); they might take it to 6h soon, but meh…
For now, just wait, and don’t play with the widget (changing settings, refresh the widget, remove & re-add it, etc.), that would send a request to Videotron, and just extend the 24h further.

Widget has been dead for 2 days.
Widget works fine. Use the latest version.
Regret to inform you that the widget has days when it does not “work fine.”
You’ve released 4 or 5 revisions in as many days – doesn’t indicate stability.
Sorry to be black and white about this, but when the widget doesn’t work – it doesn’t work.
What I meant with my previous pretty short message is:
“The widget works fine for me. Make sure you have the latest version, and try again. If you’re still having issues, please give more details; since it’s working fine for me, I can’t help you without more details.”

Try recreating a new User Key from Vtron’s service page to see if the widget fetches your info.
I have re-created the user keys several times and pasted them into both the Widget and the Chrome widget. It is of course up to the latest version.
I get variations of no response, API errors and error 500.
It is of course up to the latest v. (1.3.9 at this writing).
I have not noticed such instabilities from the Videotron API, and I’m always running both the Mac widget & Chrome extension, tough I’m not often watching them, because I always pay the maximum extra charges.
They launched their API recently (May 26), and my Mac widget & Chrome extensions are the first softwares to make use of it, so it might be bumpy for some users.
I sent your IP address to Videotron, so they can look at the requests they received from you, and see if they can see temporary or recurring errors.

Le widget (1.3.9) a cessé de bien fonctionner ici aussi. Tourne très longuement avec le message “Chargement…un instant SVP” et aboutit à “HTTP erreur:404″

Ton widget ne semble pas fonctionner sous Lion. Ça écrit “Loading, please wait…” et ça spin sans arrêt. Merci!
Assures-toi d’utiliser la dernière version du widget (voit dans le haut de la page du widget Mac).
(Je suis sur Lion depuis DP1. Le widget fonctionne depuis assez longtemps sur Lion.)
The widget works for two to three days after a restart of the Mac, then it stops working – consistent.
Same here… Sad really that the project needed to come to an end!
I went into the preferences and eliminated those for the widget, uninstalled and re-installed the widget and it seems to work now ok.
Same here. Works after a restart for a while. This time I trashed the Preferences and relaunched it. Works again – will see how long. Do hope someone with the the right skills picks this up and continues as I really loved and depended on this Widget.

Et comme les widgets Mac sont en fait des pages web, avec des JavaScript et CSS, il suffit de faire View Package Content sur le widget pour voir la source qui le compose.
